The Cradle of Aviation Museum, a state-of-the-art facility with a collection of more than 70 aircraft and spacecraft, immerses visitors in the history of aviation. Levy Park and Preserve, which features an array of wildlife, Nigerian Dwarf goats, walking trails and breathtaking views of Long Island and the New York City skyline.

Hempstead presents the best in shopping, including Roosevelt Field, Green Acres Mall, The Gallery at Westbury Plaza and Samanea Mall. We proudly offer professional sports teams, including the New York Lizards (men's outdoor lacrosse), Long Island Nets (men's basketball) and, of course, the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, who will be playing at their new UBS arena in Belmont Park, where Hempstead Town is also host to thoroughbred racing. Belmont Park is the site of the third and most elusive jewel of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes.
Perhaps Hempstead's greatest resource is its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. Among the miles of pristine beaches in the Town of Hempstead lies the famous Jones Beach, where you can enjoy a wide range of activities.
