Erin King Sweeney
5th District Council Member
Erin King Sweeney, of Wantagh, represents the Fifth Councilmanic District. First appointed to the Hempstead Town Board in January 2015, King Sweeney was elected to a full four-year term in November 2015 with 58 percent of the vote. Business-savvy and civic-minded, King Sweeney has enjoyed a successful professional career and many rewarding experiences through her involvement in outstanding community organizations. She currently serves as an attorney, with a rich background in transportation consulting and corporate affairs.
Erin is currently a partner at Eckert Seamans Attorneys at Law. She is also a managing member of King Sweeney Strategies, LLC, in Wantagh.
At the same time, King Sweeney has impressive local civic roots. She is a Board Member of the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowner's Association and the Belmont Child Care Association Advisory Board, and a former Board Member of the Cradle of Aviation Museum. King Sweeney is also a Circle of Red Member with the American Heart Association, a former member of the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board, and a Corporate Member of the Nassau County Museum of Art.
In 2013, King Sweeney was named the 2013 Businessperson of the Year and inducted as an honorary chief with the New York State Police Chiefs' Benevolent Association. In 2014 King Sweeney was a recipient of the Achiever Award from the L.I. Center for Business and Professional Women. What's more, she was also the recipient of an FBI Certificate of Recognition for her assistance with the 9/11 investigation.
King Sweeney's bright future was evident at a young age, as she graduated the prestigious University of Notre Dame and the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Erin King Sweeney is a resident of Wantagh, where she lives with her husband, son and daughter.
The Fifth Councilmanic District covers Lido Beach and Point Lookout; and parts of Baldwin, Bellmore, Freeport, Merrick, Seaford and Wantagh.
