Areas of practice include real estate, commercial litigation, personal injury, land use, transportation, finance and insurance. He has appeared frequently on national and local television as a guest commentator on legal, political, budgetary, finance, homeland security and transportation issues.
Active in the community, Mr. Blakeman served as chairman and co-founder of the Hewlett House Council, a breast cancer learning resource center and volunteered as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Malverne High School.
Additionally, he has held leadership posts for several business, community and law enforcement organizations, including Vice President of the American Jewish Congress, Executive Director of the New York Police Chiefs Benevolent Association, former Associate Director of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation, member of the Tempo Group Board of Directors (non-profit drug and alcohol counseling center), Deputy Counsel for the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Benevolent Association and a member of the Franklin Hospital Medical Center's Development Advisory Board.
