Boater Safety Courses

Safe boating saves lives and prevents accidents. Boaters between the ages of 10 and 28, and all operators of personal watercraft (PWC) and specialty prop-craft (SPC) on New York State waters who are residents of New York State must fulfill the boater educations course requirements by taking a NYS classroom course.

The Hempstead Town Bay Constables offer residents an opportunity to learn the basics of watercraft safety. Classes are now forming in two age categories: Young Safe Boating (ages 10-17) and Adult Safe Boating (ages 18 and up). These classes will enable participants to meet the requirements needed to operate a personal watercraft in New York State.

Classes will be held at the Guy Lombardo Marina in Freeport. There will be a NYS fee of $10 for adults (no fee for youngsters). Program dates and times available by calling the Bay Constables at (516) 897-4100.
