Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and members of the Town Board announce this week’s VaxMobile schedule, in partnership with Mount Sinai South Nassau, providing free COVID-19 vaccines to communities across the Town of Hempstead. This week’s schedule starts with a visit to Hempstead at Town Hall on Monday and includes two stops in Baldwin, and dates in Rockville Centre, Oceanside and Freeport. The announcement was made along with Senior Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, Councilman Bruce Blakeman, Councilman Anthony D’Esposito, Councilman Dennis Dunne, Sr., Councilman Tom Muscarella, Councilman Chris Carini, Town Clerk Kate Murray and Receiver Jeanine Driscoll.
The VaxMobile was made possible through a federal CARES grant allocated by Supervisor Clavin and the Council Members to Mount Sinai South Nassau. When the VaxMobile was unveiled in March, it was the first mobile vaccination unit in New York and the second in the nation. The unit has visited communities across America’s largest township, providing over 7,000 COVID-19 vaccines to date.
Booster shots are also available for eligible residents. View a flyer for dates, locations and more information.
