The Town of Hempstead, Audubon New York, and Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) are partnering to host a free community event, Share the Shore Day, at Lido Beach Town Park on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Attendees can sign-up for a variety of exciting, family friendly activities including a beach clean-up, bird walks, shorebird sign making, ethical wildlife photography and more! In addition to these activities, there will be an Education Hub open from 10:00am - 2:00pm for attendees to learn about the different partnering organizations and how they can be involved.
When registering, please ensure that you reserve a ticket for each member of your family or group, as space is limited for certain activities. General Admission tickets are available and include the Beach Clean-up, Audubon NY Kids Center, Education Hub, and AMSEAS First Responder Training presentation. The Bird Walks and Safe Shorebird Photography Tour require a ticket for each individual, as space is limited.
Beach clean-up supplies will be provided, but it is recommended to bring your own gloves. Binoculars will be provided, if needed, for the Bird Walk activities. Registration is required so that we may contact you if we need to cancel the event due to inclement weather. Parking fees will be waived for all registered participants. Visit the Evenbrite website for a full schedule of the day's events. We're looking forward to seeing you on Saturday, June 4th!
