lax

What could be better than checking out an action-packed New York Riptide game at Nassau Coliseum? How about playing alongside those professional lacrosse players just hours before they take the field at Long Island’s most famous arena! Supervisor Don Clavin announced today that the Town of Hempstead is partnering with the New York Riptide to host a lacrosse clinic on Saturday, April 16th at “the Old Barn” for 50 local residents. The clinic will be followed by a professional lacrosse game between the Riptide and the Rochester Knighthawks!

“America’s largest township is a big lacrosse town, and we are so excited for our young lax players to have the opportunity to get some invaluable instruction and pointers from the pros of the New York Riptide,” said Supervisor Clavin. “We encourage all our young lacrosse enthusiasts, especially those members of the Town of Hempstead Lacrosse Academy, to sign up today!”

The lacrosse clinic – run by New York Riptide players – will be held from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM at Nassau Coliseum. The game begins at 7:30 PM. Tickets are just $30, which gains you access to both the clinic and the game. Events are limited to the first 50 people registered – which can be done at www.bit.ly/tohclinic22 up to April 8th.

“We’re excited to be able to participate in Family Day with the Town of Hempstead,” GF Sports and Entertainment VP Rich Lisk said. “This clinic will give children of all skill levels the opportunity to learn from some of the best lacrosse players in the world, and echoes in our mission to grow the game of lacrosse across the New York metropolitan area.”
