2022 Beach Cleanup Dates Announced

Volunteers with balloons collected on the beach

The Town of Hempstead will once again be partnering with Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) and All Our Energy to host monthly beach cleanups at Town beaches. The 2022 inaugural beach cleanup event will kick-off on March 27th at Point Lookout Town Park, where volunteers can participate in one-hour  time slots to help clean our community beaches from trash and marine debris.

Volunteers will learn how to quantify and report data on debris collected to be reported to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). Clean-up supplies will be provided, but it is recommended that participants bring their own gloves.

There is a maximum of 50 participants per time slot, and it is required that residents register through Eventbrite. Please only sign up for one time slot to maximize the number of participants!
