As the payment deadline approaches for the first half general tax collection of 2022, Hempstead Town Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll has announced the continuation of contactless payment options while encouraging residents to utilize the readily available resources implemented through her office. Residents can make online payments, visit one of the many tax payment drive-thru booths or utilize extended tax office hours to ensure payments are received or postmarked by Thursday, February 10th to avoid penalty.
“With the recent surge of COVID-19 cases that has swept the region, we understand taxpayers may be hesitant to venture out in public,” Receiver Driscoll stated. “The Town of Hempstead continues to work tirelessly to adapt to the changing times and we are proud to provide residents with the most convenient and efficient payment options, including several drive-thru locations.”
“The Town of Hempstead has provided uninterrupted essential services throughout the pandemic thanks to our hardworking CSEA Local 880 team,” Supervisor Don Clavin said. “The Hempstead Town Tax Office is a prime example of that, and I am proud to work with Receiver Jeanine Driscoll to continue offering convenient and innovative options for taxpayers as the upcoming payment deadline approaches.”
