Supervisor Don Clavin and members of the Hempstead Town Board are partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association, Long Island Chapter, to raise awareness of dementia and provide education and support to the community.  These one-hour seminars, being held at Town of Hempstead Senior Centers, are free and open to the public.  Topics  to be presented include:

  • Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia- Learn about the impact of Alzheimer's and the difference between dementia and Alzheimer's.
  • 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's- Learn about 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others.
  • Healthy Living for your Brain and Body- Get information on diet, exercise, cognitive activity, and social engagement for healthy aging.
